Upgrading a Mobile Home.
Most folks do not know where to start on updating their mobile home, we will point out quick changes that will add the biggest eye appeal to the home.
#1.....Fireplace Mantels
This is not the fireplace most folks dream of, but it is typically what you find in most mobile homes.
The entire character of the home can be changed with the simple addition of a true sized 5’ mantel piece.
With the final addition of wood molding to wrap the fireplace and a 6’ mantel, we move into luxury status.
#2.....Dome Globes
Dome globes do their job efficiently, but it lackes a lot in the decorative sense.
Replacing these with new light replacements take an average of 20 to 30 minutes to install for first timers.
Replace old plastic light covers that are stained brown from hotter bulbs than recommended. Go with 60 watt bulbs.
These are easy upgrades the lighting assembly is in place, you only need to change the cover to circles or squares.
3 minutes top to change for first timers. The difference is amazing!
#3.....Floor Registers
After a couple of years of child rearing any home is probably do for a change of floor registers, especially in kitchen and bath areas.
So many selections are available today! You can pick wood grain, white and an assortment of colors.
#4.....Baseboard Molding
Few homes have it, but when they do.....Oh, The Difference It Makes! With high ceilings in many doublewides today, the larger the baseboard the better. This option adds elegance & character to the home.
Adding chair railing is a good choice and makes the most visible impression in hallways.
#5.....Window Molding
The trimings around windows in mobile homes lack window molding, you see metal and a lot of screws.
The easy addition of molding around the windows is a lot simplier than most people think.
This style is best, but any improvement makes a huge difference!
#6.....Toilet Seats
Chipped, stained our soiled seats should be changed for the better appeal.
This is a quick upgrade that makes a big difference in the cleanliness look of a bathroom.
#7.....Shower Head
Most shower heads I have seen in any home usually needs cleaning or upgraded.
This is a simple task that requires only a few minutes of work.
#8.....Kitchen Sink Strainer
Few mobile homes come with all chrome kitchen sink strainers, they are chrome around the top but the bottom is dark colored pvc, it tends to make the sink look dirty.
Chrome shines and looks clean!
#9.....Door Knobs
Some homes have plastic door knobs or heavy scratched old ones.
New shiny brass door knobs will transform the entire look coming in and out the door.
